Leapers

Leapers are formed are formed from the result of Crawlers finding unsuitable hosts for the Chimeran virus. These gross mutations are often the result of old human or animal corpses. After the virus is first injected into the host, the body goes becomes a Leaper Pod which is a pupae form to protect the body.
Leapers are easy to handle from a distance with a single shot, but in close range and against a large group things can become difficult to manage. It is quite easy to tell when a Leaper is going to attack based on a chill-inducing shriek.
Tips
One of the best ways to take down these beasts is to fire quick short bursts with the M5A2 Carbine. It is effective and the ammo can be easily replenished.
