The conversion centers were constructed by the Chimera to more mass produce hybrids and Titans and other various types of Chimera. In Resistance: Retribution, drones are disassembling old conversion centers for spare parts. Grayson notices this and wonders what could be a cause for them doing this? It's unknown why but many thing that it has something to do with the fact that the Chimera were loosing the war. So they started building machines to help them in their conquest, such as the Hammer. They also needed the spare parts for their towers. Many conversion centers were destroyed but many heavily fortified ones still remain. The conversion centers are the many source of Chimera and if Earth wanted to win the war they were going to have to destroy them.
